Capacity increases only after failure rate, device pressure and output integrity reach an acceptable level. Unverified batch numbers are not promised in advance.
Only current production capabilities are listed here.
This is not a format-count marketing page. FileNest pairs supported types with processing location and current capacity. If a live tool shows a lower safety limit, the live tool is authoritative.
For credit-consuming work, Free normally provides 5 successful files per rolling 24 hours, 25 MB/file and up to 3 files/batch. Pro provides 300 standard conversions every 30 days and up to 50 MB/file; image tools currently support up to 50 files/batch, general file tools up to 20, and High Accuracy cloud OCR up to 5 images/batch. A specific tool can use a lower cap because of memory, format or safety testing.
| Workflow | Input | Output | Processing | Current limit notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Batch renaming | Ordinary files your browser can select | Renamed copies in a ZIP | Browser-local | Core renaming stays free; practical file count still depends on browser and device memory |
| Image conversion | JPG, PNG, WebP | JPG, PNG, WebP | Browser-local | Free normally uses 25 MB/file and 3 files/batch; Pro currently uses up to 50 MB/file and up to 50 files/batch for image tools |
| Image resize / compression / enhancement | JPG, PNG, WebP | Processed image files | Browser-local | Uses the image-tool limits; the active cap is shown before files are accepted |
| OCR · Local Privacy | JPG, PNG, WebP | Copyable text / exports currently offered by the tool | Browser-local | Complex layouts can be less accurate and results must be reviewed |
| OCR · High Accuracy | JPG, PNG, WebP | Recognized text / exports currently offered by the tool | Transient cloud | Requires explicit transient-cloud confirmation; Pro currently caps this path at 5 images/batch with a lower per-image upload safety limit |
| PDF merge / split | Browser-local | General file tools currently use up to a 20-file Pro batch cap; a specific operation may use a lower safety cap | ||
| Images to PDF | Common image types accepted by the current tool | Browser-local | The live tool's file picker and preflight message are authoritative for accepted types and batch limits | |
| Data conversion | CSV, TSV, JSON | Targets currently offered among CSV, TSV and JSON | Browser-local | Free normally uses 25 MB/file and 3 files/batch; general Pro file tools currently use up to 20 files/batch |
| Text to document | Text entered on the page | DOCX, PDF, TXT, Markdown, HTML | Browser-local | This is not upload-first file conversion; backgrounds and export options follow the live tool |
| Duplicate detection | Ordinary files your browser can select | Duplicate-group report; no automatic deletion | Browser-local | Prefilters by size and computes SHA-256 in the browser; FileNest does not delete source files |
Most file tools process in the browser. High Accuracy OCR is the explicit exception and transiently sends selected images for recognition only after confirmation.
For example, PDF-to-Word/Excel/PowerPoint is not a current production capability. Do not rely on FileNest for workflows it does not offer.
