Choose clear JPG, PNG or WebP images. High Accuracy mode is currently staged at 5 images per batch.
Image to Text OCR & Document Export
Choose clear, upright images with readable text. Before execution, High Accuracy mode shows the actual route for this request. When the current browser, language and release admission are eligible for FileNest browser OCR, source images stay off external OCR; otherwise the disclosed transient Azure Document Intelligence prebuilt-read route remains in use until migration completes. Local Privacy mode uses Tesseract.js in the current browser; selected images are not uploaded for OCR recognition. OCR runtime assets or language data may download on first use. Every route requires human review before export.

High Accuracy shows the request processing route before execution. Eligible FileNest browser OCR keeps source images off external OCR; other requests remain on the disclosed transient cloud route until migration completes. Local Privacy remains available with no upload.
Recognition runs in the background so the page stays responsive; review every word before exporting DOCX, PDF, TXT, Markdown or HTML.
Less mechanical sorting, more focus
Paper notes
Turn a clear photo into an editable draft, then correct recognition mistakes.
Receipts and forms
Extract readable text as a data-entry starting point, not as an authoritative record.
Image-based material
Combine text from several clear images, review it and export a common document.
Questions before you begin
Is OCR guaranteed to be completely accurate?
No. Blur, skew, glare, handwriting, unusual fonts and complex layouts can cause missing or incorrect text. Review every result before export on every OCR route.
Are images uploaded?
It depends on the actual route shown before execution. When a request is admitted to FileNest browser High Accuracy OCR, the source image is recognized in the current browser Worker and is not sent to an external OCR API. High Accuracy requests not yet in that release range continue on the disclosed transient cloud route until migration completes. High Accuracy OCR: images are transiently passed through the FileNest OCR Worker to Azure Document Intelligence prebuilt-read; FileNest does not persist source images. Local Privacy mode uses Tesseract.js in the current browser; selected images are not uploaded for OCR recognition. OCR runtime assets or language data may download on first use.
Are PDFs or handwriting supported?
The tool currently accepts JPG, PNG and WebP, not PDF. Handwriting, low-quality images and complex layouts may not be recognized reliably, so accuracy is not guaranteed.
Which formats can I export after OCR?
After reviewing and confirming the text, export DOCX, PDF, TXT, Markdown or HTML. OCR output is never presented as a final record that can skip human review.
