FileNest does not treat “uses cookies” as a blanket consent statement. Account sessions protect sign-in; analytics follows Consent Mode and your choice.
This page explains the browser storage and measurement behavior currently used by FileNest for sessions and analytics. It does not mean every third-party site uses the same rules. For example, after you leave FileNest for Stripe Checkout, Stripe's own pages are governed by Stripe's privacy and cookie practices.
Signed-in accounts need a secure session. FileNest production session tokens use HttpOnly cookies, with Secure enabled in production and SameSite controls to reduce cross-site exposure. These sessions keep accounts signed in and protect access; they are not used for advertising profiles.
When a page opens, the Google tag starts with analytics_storage=denied and advertising-related storage also denied, so GA analytics cookies are not read or written in that state. FileNest does not use this configuration to enable personalized advertising.
Google may still receive limited cookieless measurement and consent-state signals for basic measurement and modeling. These technical signals can include page URL or referrer, browser and device details. FileNest custom tool events and file-count events are not sent without consent.
Only after you choose Accept does FileNest enable full anonymous site analytics, including page views, referral source, browser/device category, approximate region, tools used, counts of files added and task success. FileNest does not intentionally send file names, file contents, entered text, email addresses or card details to GA4.
Browser tools can use current-browser memory or local site storage for interface preferences, temporary work state or user choices. Clearing browser site data can remove that local state, but it does not reset server-side free quota, membership status or account records.
You can change your analytics choice at any time through Analytics settings in the footer. A new choice changes future analytics behavior; it does not retroactively erase data already handled lawfully or under the choice that applied at the time.
If FileNest adds new analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking mechanisms, this page and the Privacy page must be updated first. This notice does not authorize tracking uses that are not currently deployed.
